Craft Beer Wedding Inspo

Have you ever been to (or maybe thrown) a craft beer wedding? We’re not just talking a wedding that served craft beer, because, let’s face it, that’s basically every wedding these days. We’re talking a wedding that put the couple’s love for craft beer on show: maybe it was held at the couple’s favourite craft brewery, maybe the bride and groom donned hop jewellery, maybe rare beers were thoughtfully paired with each course… maybe all of those things happened.

For our spring issue we’re working on a craft beer wedding feature, and we’re hunting down the coolest (and over-the-top) craft beer weddings in Ontario. We’d like to tell the stories of four or five couples in the magazine and lots more on our social channels.

Craft Beer Wedding Call Out!

If you had a kick-ass craft beer wedding, or attended one, please email me — crystal @ thegrowler.ca — as soon as you can. Describe, in a few lines, how craft beer played a role in your celebration with a link to some photos. We’re looking for weddings that happened in Ontario and have taken place in the last three years.

And I couldn’t write about craft beer weddings without shamelessly sharing a few photos from my own sudsy celebration waaay back in 2012. I was writing about beer full-time (living my dream!) and on my way to becoming a Certified Cicerone. I paired every course with a rare beer, kicked off the party by toasting with Westmalle Tripel, and asked The Granite Brewery to supply a cask of Bride’s Ale for the bar which I stocked with my go-to Ontario craft beers.

Watching our guests try beer and food together, and seeing their tables full of empty tasting glasses at the end of the meal was a true delight. I can’t wait to hear stories from our readers and Ontario craft brewery hosts about the most memorable craft beer weddings they’ve created or attended.
